Curtis Mennie is a Calgary criminal defence lawyer who is passionate about criminal law and advocating for individual rights. He has successfully defended Albertans of countless charges including 1st degree murder, criminal negligence causing death, sexual assault, possession for the purposes of trafficking, fraud over $5000, and impaired driving charges. He has appeared at all levels of Court in both Alberta and British Columbia. It’s very important when deciding what lawyer to retain that you choose someone who practices exclusively criminal law.

Starting in his first year of law school Curtis volunteered at his law school's legal clinic where he got his first taste of courtroom litigation, from that point on he chose his courses with a focus in criminal law. During his time at law school he was selected for two criminal and constitutional moot programs: the Sopinka Cup and the Gale Cup. The Sopinka Cup is the only national trial moot competition and Curtis' team placed first in Western Canada. The Gale Cup is the only national criminal law appellate moot and Curtis was coached under the senior experience of Mark Brayford Q.C.. During his last term at law school, Curtis worked under the supervision of Mark Brayford Q.C. for an independent directed research project.
